The term "golden week" is a Japanese word (the time of the May holidays, when most Japanese go on vacation). But in Korea, this time is truly a "golden week." In practice, Koreans rest for about a week, starting from May 1st (as always, the Spring and Labor Day, of course); the official day off is May 5th (Children's Day), but, according to tradition, Koreans party almost the entire first week of May.
