Traditional Korean bath house
Pulgama means literaly 'fire kiln'. It is stoked for 6 to 20 hous, let it stand idle for some time, and then use, as it gets less hot, as 'super hot pulgama', 'hot pulgama', 'not so hot pulgama'. The pulgamas in Korea are mixed, for both men and women, the clients sit together in them in special garments resembling pajamas and called jimjilbok.
In modern pulgamas you will find not only the traditional kilns, but also some modern facilities, such as shower rooms, separate saunas
for men and women, canteens etc.
